August Evening Meeting

Venue: Waikanae Bridge Club Rooms

August 3rd

Our evening meetings are a slightly more formal affair than our day meetings and include a show and tell by members of their work, wonderful speakers or demonstrations and conclude with a supper so members can meet and greet.

Members please check the roster to see if you are on any duties at these meetings.  We have had a few no shows for supper duty in particular so please assist us by checking in the newsletter and arranging your own replacement if necessary.

August speaker: Dianne Southee

On duty:
Carla Morton & Sue Muir on hall set up
Paulette Meldrum & Kay Mills on supper

Next Day Meeting
Date: 15 August 2017
Venue: Bridge Club Rooms
27a Elizabeth Street

10.30am to 2.30PM.

This is a less formal meeting than our evening meeting. A very hands on get together where you can accomplish as much or as little as you like. Members bring their hand sewing, sewing machine, projects to pin, projects to cut out or other crafts. A great way to get to know a friendly group of people who have quilting as their thread.

Visitors welcome - $2.

Come and see who we are and what we do.

Date: 19 AUGUST 2017
Venue: Bridge Club Rooms
Elizabeth Street

Come along and help with making quilts to go out to members of our community who are in need. Quilts given to Womens Refuge, fire victims and many more deserving people.

Bring your sewing machine, some neutral sewing thread and your lunch.  10am start and we work through to 2-3pm depending on numbers and completion of tasks for the day.

Don't want to bring your machine - there are always a few quilts that need that final hand sewing of the binding.

Venue: Bridge Club Rooms
Elizabeth Street

Our next 'runaway with your sewing machine or hand quilting project' day is on August 26th from 10am.  Come and join your fellow guild members doing what you love best. It is a good way to meet members you may not have spoken to for a while and for those tricky quilting problems there is always some help or advice going.  You can really get stuck in and achieve a lot of work, or be a little more relaxed enjoying the company as well as the sewing time.

Places are  limited so book with Judy Boyle to confirm your place. THERE IS NOW NO CHARGE FOR this day which includes morning tea and afternoon tea, but bring your own lunch.

Come for part or all of the day.
